Talking About The Gospel Too Much

I've heard this way too many times: "He just talks about the Gospel too much."  My first thought is, "Really??"  Is there such a thing as talking about the Gospel too much?  Usually when this is said, it is said by people who are Christians, and they want to have an excuse for why they don't want to hear a certain person preach.
Here's the thing about the Gospel: it's not just for unbelievers.  I know that is going to shock and probably really mess some people up.  For most Jesus followers, we look at the Gospel as a Band-Aid for people who need Jesus.  We think of it as a one time patch to make all the bad things go away.  The problem with that thinking is that it is completely wrong!  The Gospel isn't some quick fix for bad people.  The Gospel is the timeless truth of the grace and mercy and love of Almighty God that is continually working in us.  Yes, the death of Jesus was a one time event, and yes, your "salvation experience" was a one time event, but the work of the cross is continual.
Each Jesus follower should be constantly studying, learning about, and preaching to themselves the wonderful truth that is the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  For as we continually internalize the message, it is something that becomes a natural part of us, and it naturally flows from us.
The Gospel is multi-faceted, and I do not believe that we will fully grasp all of it in this lifetime, however, that does not mean we should refrain from learning as much as we can.  As we learn, we are changed even more by the Gospel.  As we are changed by it, we share it with others.
So, no, I do not believe you can talk about the Gospel too much.  In fact, most of us are guilty of talking about it too little.
Learn the Gospel.  Study the Gospel. Preach the Gospel to yourself every day.  Share the Gospel.  Talk about the Gospel.  Be accused of talking about the Gospel too much!
